Parents Magazine Editorial Shoot
Have you seen this on the newstands?

Notice the line about “The Joy of Adoption?” Well I got a taste of that when I was chosen by Parents magazine to photograph the Anhalt family. Adoption to many is shrouded in mystery and assumptions. What happens once your heart decides that adoption is the right choice for you? Parents does a great job highlighting several families in their quest.
Here are some of the photos from the session we conducted. These photos were not chosen to be in the magazine, but they deserve to be shared.
Photo with specs for Parents, lessons in how to keep a “good” girl down, laps are good…

But only contain for a short amount of time, then the fun of running on white paper barefoot amused us all for a bit…

Finally freedom to lead us on a glorious jaunt around the Vinson property…

Finally, all relaxed, I captured this lovely shot of this sweetpea who has brought so much joy into her parents lives.
To read more on their roller coaster ride with a happy ending go to Adoption Stories on the Parents website.

Visiting Texas Family
One of the privileges I have as a photographer living in a vacation area is that I get to meet such a wide array of geographically different indviduals. This family was enjoying some time off at Sandestin.

And can you tell us how old you are, young man?

These little girls and their beautiful dresses…I love the vintage feeling of this photo

Time with Mommy
I have photographed this little girl twice before. She is from St. Petersburg, FL. Her and her mom were able to take a quick road trip up to Pensacola and I got the privilege of photographing them again.
I ADORE this dress and want one for myself…

I could hardly hold the camera, I was laughing so hard at this photo, the gull was ignoring her though.

This was one of the last photos I took. Love to see my subjects so happy…

Renewed Vows
This wonderful family was visiting Blue Mountain Beach from Tennessee. They were renewing their vows with their children at their side. It was a pleasure to photograph this fellow photographer and her crew included these adorable twins.

This photo really speaks to the hyponotizing effect of our white sand beaches. You can totally lose yourself in the bliss of the sensory bonanza.

Day Off
This Pensacola family had taken the day off to spend at the beach together as a family. They were very much at ease and the photos show it.

Six month old lil’ guy in my baby plan
It is such a pleasure to watch these little ones develop a personality.

Love this one…it is screaming for a caption though, I have one in mind, but would love to hear what others come up with… ideas?

Eden Gardens
To my long time blog readers: remember my contest in January that asked for submissions of the best off-the-beaten path places to conduct a photo session? The winner, as you remember, was Eden Gardens. Well, I finally had the opportunity to do a session there and it was simply amazing. If you get a chance to visit, you will truly enjoy your stay. I adored the rose garden and the reflecting pond, but the whole place was gorgeous.

Quick update on casting call
I am still seeking subjects for my exhibit. I’ve got quite a few children, but am still in need of more racial representation and children in the upper age ranges (6-8). You can find all the info in my post earlier this month. Thanks for all those who have emailed me with their interest in the project. It has been heartwarming to see the solidarity in this community and gives me great hope in a more harmonious future here in Pensacola.
Again, if you haven’t heard back from me, you should probably try emailing me again. I’ve gotten a lot of response and have tried to get back to everyone but I may have overlooked your email. trista@lookwhojustblouin.com. Thanks! This is going to be a huge deal and I am so excited to see it coming together.

Just Beautiful
Wow, this entire family was simply stunning, all with piercing blue eyes and gorgeous features. Best of all, they were sincere, kind, and very comical.

Front Row Seat
How fortunate this family is to have the pleasure of waking each morning to look out their front window and see this amazing sight out at Pensacola Beach. Not to mention not having to try and make their way out to the beach on Blue Angel Weekend. That alone has to be worth the yearly mortgage payments.
