Newborn season
Was there something in the air back in July?? I have had a rash of newborn sessions. All these little bundles of newness wrapped up a fresh powdery scent…ahhhh. I never tire of them.
Here is a little guy from the Fort Walton Beach area.

Taking off
These one year olds have me racing around as they bravely discover the joys of walking. I photographed this little one when she was a newborn and now look at her. Her mom says she can hardly keep up with her. I believe it. Look at her here as she nonchalantly waves goodbye to her mom before she takes off.

New display in Pensacola
Exciting news, this week I was able to set up a new display at Celebrations in Pensacola. The owners generously agreed to allow me to play my slide-show of photos on a video screen. What is even more exciting is that all of you past clients who signed model releases are now stars! I tried to include one photo from every session I’ve done over the last year. It is set to beautiful music and of course is nestled into the most beautiful gift shop in Pensacola! Please stop by, in the next week or two I will be participating in something special in collaboration with Celebrations. You can also watch this blog for limited time offers.
Do you have plans to attend a baby shower? What could be a better present then a gift certificate from Look Who Just Blouin Photography nestled in a gift basket of goodies from Celebrations? Especially for those parents who are having their second child, this will be a gift that will rise to the top as their very favorite. I do newborn photography within 7 days, in the family’s home, of the birth and I also have a baby plan called the Sunrise Incentive Program.
Here are two oldie but goodies that appear in the slide-show.

Connections = Bonding = Love
I was watching Law and Order they other day and they had a story in which they showed the impact of a child not bonding with their parent(s). It really struck me who very important it is to gently touch our children through snuggles and warm hugs or simply a stroke on the cheek. These continual connections lead to bonding and the foundation of love that carries a parent/child relationships through the ups and downs of life. Here is one such mom and her two sons. You can see the connections and the bonding that have resulted and you can even see the love and fondness in their dazed/sparkling eyes.

Imagination
How fun to see the little things in a whole new light. Things we take for granted every day, like fallen leaves, can become a subject for imaginative play with our children.

Furry Babies
I got to photograph two furry baby females today, one was human, one a dog. This family had a fur baby before their little girl arrived. Brit (the dog) actually had accepted the newest addition with amazing grace. The parents did a great job at making sure Brit was made to feel loved despite the diverted attention. The baby girl had the most amazing head of furry hair. She looked like she had a lion’s mane. It was gorgeous and combined with her huge saucer eyes, she was very stunning! Don’t you agree?

Garden Fairy
Waving her pink wand around her with all the vigor she could muster, Miss A infused the hanging foilage with magical powers. Thank you for electrifying my day sweetie pie, and yes, I will remember to watch out for the lurking pumas in the elephant ears.

I love Candy
What is it about children and candy that is so adorable? The colors of candy are so appealing. They compliment the bright-eyed curiosity and sweet disposition of childhood! Wouldn’t you agree??

My Birthday Girl
Yesterday was a big day. My littlest girl turned five. We have officially left the preschool age category in our household. As with every stage we’ve come through, there is a set of bittersweet emotions to work through. I am so proud of who my little girl is developing into yet I mourn the decline of her imaginative, innocent stage.
We threw a beautiful princess birthday party for her. Her and her friends were adorable dressed up in princess outfits, making necklaces, playing in the castle in her bedroom, chasing hamster around in his ball, having tea and cake, opening presents, and just being FIVE. She was so excited for the party and has not stopped talking about how wonderful it was. She was thrilled to be with her friends and those loved one who surrounded her. I took some photos of each of the princesses, but I want to share just two for now. The first is a couple of the attendees together talking girl talk. The second is of the birthday girl right before leaving for school in the morning. She was so excited about her PreK class singing happy birthday to her. Can’t you see how thrilled she is to have her special day?
