24 HOUR PENSACOLA BEACH PHOTO SESSION FIRE SALE – $50

ETA: All sessions are booked. Thanks for your interest.

I love doing these surprise specials on my blog. They are so fun. This will ONLY be available for the next 24 hours (ends at 1 p.m. on April 1).

I will be shooting at Pensacola Beach (on a very quiet part of the beach) on the mornings of April 19. My regular commission fee for a family of four is $190 (actually since this is a weekend date the fee would be $290). If you call within the next 24 hrs, you can book a mini-session during these times for only $50. Here is my only stipulation, I will need to book at least three sessions for this to go through. So when you call me I will take your information but will not charge your card until I have three bookings. If I do not get three bookings, I will contact you to let you know. You can help by letting your friends know about this special and I’m certain we’ll fill these slots very quickly.

I will stop taking bookings at four families, so if you are interested, I suggest you call right away to reserve your slot. Hope to talk to you soon!

First Beach Shoot of the Season

This past week ushered in the 2008 beach photo season.

This family of three had tons of fun playing on Pensacola Beach.

I love the way he snuggled into both his parents.

Hold me beach

Hold my leg beach

Mom says that she sees this expression on her son all the time, so I’m glad I could capture it…just making it “personal.”

Chin Out

Looking forward to more sessions on the beach!

My daughter Liliana

I don’t share photos of my children very often, but I thought I would share my spring shoot of my two daughters. Today I will share photos of my youngest, Liliana Isabeau (pronounced Isabel). Her 6th birthday is next week. She recently got almost 14 inches of hair cut off. She is in need of a trim, but I love this cut on her, it fits her personality very nicely. She is a happy, compassionate little girl. She has had a sixth sense for as long as I can remember. She can sense what someone is feeling even when they themselves aren’t aware of it yet. I have never met a more feeling person. Her gift to me is her tenderness. Being with her reminds me to always show compassion toward others.

Honored with Designation of an “Angel in our Midst” on ABC News

My book on families with autism, A Slice of Life – Vignettes of Five Families Living with Autism has received pre-release publicity. Sue Straughn, a long time news personality on WEAR ABC 3 news has designated me as an “Angel in our Midst” for creating the book. I was stunned to receive this honor and am very excited that it will bring more understanding to what it is like for families who love someone with autism.

Here is the segment: http://www.weartv.com/players/news/angels/vid_55.shtml

The book will be unveiled this Friday at the annual Autism Society dinner. I will be there to sign books. After the event, the books will be available online. I will share that link after this Friday.

Peek A Boo

This little guy from Atlanta loved playing peek-a-boo and would break out in the most contagious wide smile. If he wasn’t smiling, he had this look of wonder in his eyes. I thought it was a nice set of photos to share on a sunny day filled w/hope for so many. Happy Easter!

Back from Atlanta, safe and sound

Whew, that was a “whirlwind” trip! I was able to get done what I set out to accomplish up there, to a large degree. My Saturday jobs had to be cancelled due to tornado warnings but I did get to spend the day shopping Atlanta instead and that was fun. I will be announcing my next block of Atlanta session availability shortly, but it will probably be toward the end of April.

On a more somber note, my thoughts go out to all the families whose lives were either disrupted or even torn apart by the tornadoes this weekend. There were a couple fatalities and many injuries. Early estimates put the loss of property at around 30 million dollars in just Atlanta alone. My Sunday client lives only 1 .5 miles away from Cabbage Town, an area devastated by the tornado. They said the area is a complete wreck. What I did find amazing was how, on the news, they showed families coming together on Saturday night sharing a big picnic with their neighbors, a use the meat from the freezer before it goes bad bbq. It reminded me of how Pensacola reached out to its neighbors after Hurricane Ivan and shared food, fellowship, and manpower. It was a reminder of the goodness of humankind and how, when the going gets tough, we come to the aid of those in need.

It’s 11 P.M. and I’m in Atlanta, tornado just ripped through downtown

Downtown is packed with visitors this weekend and building tops and hotel windows ripped out. Please keep everyone in your thoughts…it looks like a war zone down here.

What a Perfect Time of Year for a Photo Session

For all of you who booked in March, you are in for a treat. The flowers are just starting to bloom, the temperatures are in the upper 60’s and occasionally, lower 70’s. Children LOVE being outside this time of year. I love being outside this time of year. Bring on the azaleas!

This little girl is in my baby plan. This was the very first time she had ever sat on grass. She couldn’t get enough of rubbing her feet through it. Her mom and dad loved watching her enjoy this new experience.
