Fall/Holiday Session Availability
I’ve gotten a few emails from past clients wanting to know when they should book their fall session to have the photos back before Christmas or in time to send Christmas cards. Here are my deadlines:
- To get Christmas Cards back by Thanksgiving you need to have your session on or before October 14.
- To get Christmas Cards back at around 2 wks before Christmas you need to have your session before October 31.
- To get your photos back the week of Christmas (to give as gifts) you need to have your session prior to November 13.
I currently am almost full for September, so if you want to get in for this fall, please don’t procrastinate (I am the queen of procrastination so I do understand).
Here are a few photos from a recent session…

Adding On
I love it when I get to photograph all of the family’s newborns through the years. It is especially fun to see how much the little ones I captured have grown up to be “big” brothers or sisters. Here is one such family.

Black and White Photos
For those of you who have worked with me, you know that I offer both black and white and color proofs. But what usually ends up on my blog is color because, let’s face it, we live in Florida and color is alive and thriving almost all year round. That being said, I like to throw in a couple of black and white photos now and then to show my range.
This is a newborn session. I spent a few minutes at the end photographing the mom w/her older daughter. The 4 year old was very adamant that she have shots taken w/mommy just like her baby brother did. I love these two…

and here is the new little guy with his daddy…

Relaxed and Beautiful
I just get giddy when I look through the photos I took and find a sense of ease in the faces and bodies of my subjects. Stiff photos are just not going to remind you of your time with your children as they grow. I say you might as well just keep the photo that came in your frame if you aren’t willing to let down your barriers to me and be real with your children. Here is a family who just let themselves relax with me…

A little side story about this next set of photos… The little dress she is wearing was purchased by her parents before she was born while they were in Belize. I always ask my clients to try and incorporate items into the session that have special meaning to them: a piece of jewelry, a blanket, etc. Along with the relaxed nature of the session, the use of this dress will bring even more meaning to these photos through the years to come.

Immortalizing Summer
Being a little boy or girl in the South in summer… what photos does that conjure up in your memory? Maybe you remember eating ice cream cones sitting on the front porch or riding your bike up and down the street. Either way, summers meant hot temps and good, carefree times. This family will have these pieces to remind them of their sons boyhood summer days and this boy will have these when he is old enough to have them passed on to him.
This piece is a painting that will be produced as a giclee, probably on canvas, painted and framed in either a wood or guilded frame…

This black and white toned piece will look wonderful on the little boys wall right above his toybox filled with superman capes, toy cars, and Lincoln logs.

and of course, a beautiful close up showing his sweaty brow, the true definition of summer boyhood…

Enjoy these last few weeks of summer to the fullest!
